The engagement brought together regulators, industry players, development partners, and e-commerce stakeholders to examine key challenges affecting online trade in Ghana, including consumer protection, cybersecurity, digital payments, and regulatory coordination.

Participants explored practical and innovative solutions aimed at strengthening trust across the digital commerce landscape. These included AI-driven tools, automated monitoring systems, enhanced collaboration among regulators, and the adoption of emerging technologies to promote sustainable growth within Ghana’s e-commerce ecosystem.

Key Areas of Discussion

·         Improving consumer protection and confidence in online transactions

·         Strengthening cybersecurity safeguards for digital commerce platforms

·         Enhancing digital payment systems and trust in electronic transactions

·         Promoting regulatory coordination among key institutions

·         Encouraging innovation through AI-driven tools and automated monitoring systems

·         Supporting inclusive participation and sustainable growth in Ghana’s e-commerce sector

Speaking at the event, Dr. Mark-Oliver Kevor, Director-General of NITA, emphasized the importance of collaborative action in building a secure, trusted, and resilient digital commerce environment. He noted that effective partnerships among government, regulators, industry, and development partners are critical to protecting consumers, enabling innovation, and positioning Ghana to benefit fully from the opportunities of the digital economy.
