Huawei Technologies, in conjunction with NITA donates Telepresence Facility to The Office of The President, Castle, Osu

The Hi-tech Telepresence video facility will allow for live and interactive communication between the Office of the President and Regional Coordinating Councils countrywide. This will help fulfill a major objective of the e-Government project to facilitate effective communication in Government, and to a very large extent reduce travel costs, associated incidences of Ministers having to travel to and from the Office of the President.
The pledge to donate this facility to the Government of Ghana was made during President John Fiifi Atta Mills’ visit to the Headquarters of Huawei Technologies in Shenzhen, China in September of 2010.
In addition to the Office of the President, the under listed Government offices have been fully equipped with the Telepresence Conference System:
• Office of the Northern Regional Minister
• Office of the Upper East Regional Minister
• Office of the Upper West Regional Minister
• Office of the Ashanti Regional Minister
• Office of the Volta Regional Minister
• Office of the Central Regional Minister
• The Flagstaff House.
In his appreciation speech, the President of the Republic of Ghana thanked Huawei Technologies and the Government of China for the donation and reiterated how very important the Tele conference facility is to facilitate effective communication between the Office of the President and the Regional Coordinating Councils to enhance Government administration.
